SAVAL Motor-driven Valves
Integrated valve-actuator assemblies for marine and civil applications
Integrated valve-actuator assemblies
for marine and civilian applications
SAVAL Motorized Valves are integrated assemblies designed for the safe and reliable control of fluids in marine systems, where mechanical robustness, operational accuracy and integration with control systems are critical factors.
At FJ, we manufacture the SAVAL valve and integrate it with electric, pneumatic or hydraulic actuators under a complete assembly concept, guaranteeing its correct operation as a single functional unit. This approach allows us to supply ready-to-install solutions, optimized from the mechanical, functional and documentary point of view.
Our assemblies are mainly oriented to the naval and military sectors, but are also used in civil and industrial installations requiring reliable and robust drive solutions adapted to demanding operating conditions, such as port installations, hydraulic infrastructures or critical industrial systems.
A single technical responsibility. A single optimized package.
SAVAL Motorized Valve Concept
Concept of integrated whole
A SAVAL® Motorized Valve is not simply a valve with an actuator attached. It is an assembled, adjusted and tested set that integrates the SAVAL valve, the actuator selected according to the application, the mechanical coupling elements and the auxiliary systems necessary for its operation.
This approach guarantees full compatibility between valve and actuator, optimizes the required operating torque and ensures sustained operational reliability over time. It also simplifies assembly and commissioning at the shipyard, reducing subsequent adjustments and minimizing risks in the installation phase.
Types of SAVAL Motorized Valves
SAVAL valves
with electric actuator
SAVAL motorized valves with electric actuator are oriented to systems where automation, remote control and integration with control architectures such as PRIOR are required.
They allow precise positioning and centralized management within the vessel system. FJ integrates electric actuators from reference manufacturers, ensuring their correct mechanical and functional adaptation to each SAVAL valve model and configuring each set according to the operational requirements of the project.
Typical applications
- Seawater and freshwater systems
- Refrigeration networks and general services
- Automated auxiliary systems
- Water treatment and distribution facilities
- Industrial infrastructures and process plants
- Data Processing Centers (DPCs / Data Centers)
- Technical installations with continuous or critical operation
SAVAL valves
with hydraulic actuator
For applications with high technical requirements, FJ supplies SAVAL Motorized Valves with hydraulic actuator manufactured in-house, allowing total control over the design, manufacture and quality of the assembly.
The hydraulic solution is particularly suitable when high actuation torques, integration with on-board hydraulic circuits or reliable operation under extreme conditions are required .
In-house manufacturing of the hydraulic actuator allows the design to be tailored to specific project requirements, ensuring an optimized valve-actuator assembly.
Typical applications
- Military and defense systems
- Naval hydraulic systems
- Large size or high torque valves
- Critical control and safety systems
SAVAL valves
with pneumatic actuator
SAVAL motorized valves with pneumatic actuator offer a robust solution in systems where compressed air is available and fast maneuvering, high operational repeatability and simple, rugged design are required .
Single or double acting actuators are integrated, configured according to safety conditions and naval system failure philosophy.
This type of drive is particularly suitable for general service circuits, auxiliary and safety systems and industrial applications where fast response and mechanical reliability are required.
Typical applications
- Seawater and freshwater systems
- Refrigeration networks and general services
- Auxiliary and safety systems
- Water treatment and distribution facilities
- Industrial infrastructures and process plants
- Technical installations with fast switching requirements
On-board application
SAVAL® Motorized Valves are designed to be integrated into multiple on-board systems, both in new constructions and retrofits.
They are installed in military and auxiliary vessels, frigates, patrol boats and special units, as part of ballast and bilge systems, seawater circuits, cooling, fuel, oils, hydraulic systems and safety and emergency systems.
Its configuration versatility allows it to adapt to different naval architectures without compromising robustness or technical coherence.
Main technical characteristics
- Fully integrated valve-actuator assemblies
- Robust design for marine environment
- Materials suitable for corrosion resistance
- Compatibility with emergency manual operation
- Preparation for vibration and naval conditions
- Customized configuration for each project
Engineering, design and documentation
FJ accompanies each SAVAL motorized valve with the necessary technical documentation for its correct integration in naval projects:
- ILS project documentation
- 2D drawings of the whole
- 3D models and CAD files
- Assembly diagrams
- BOMs
- Technical support during the engineering phase
This documentation facilitates the work of engineering companies, shipyards and system integrators from the initial stages of the project.
Certifications and quality control
SAVAL Motorized Valves are designed, manufactured and integrated under strict quality control procedures, adapting to the requirements of the main naval regulations and classification societies applicable to each project. SAVAL valves have specific certifications and tests, including fire, vibration and shock tests in some of its valve models, oriented to guarantee its reliability in demanding environments.
Likewise, FJ has experience and capabilities for the validation of the valve-actuator assembly, including MIL-901-STD crash tests and certifications for motorized valves, ensuring the correct performance of the integrated system. Each assembly is verified to guarantee its correct integration and operation, and can undergo internal FAT testing when required by the project, in order to validate its performance prior to shipment. Additionally, FJ can provide technical support during the on-board commissioning phase, guaranteeing the correct installation and commissioning of the motorized valve in its final operating environment.
