Remote Control System PRIOR
FJ’s proprietary technology for secure control of critical systems
Control platform for critical systems in naval and industrial environments
PRIOR® is the system for control developed by FJ for the management, monitoring and operation of critical systems in naval and industrial environments. It is designed for applications in which safety, reliability and capacity for response are essential, especially in systems for valves and conveyance of fluids where remote operation and the visibility of the status of the equipment are crucial.
Designed as a flexible platform, PRIOR® enables the integration of valve control, hydraulic systems, pneumatic solutions and electro-pneumatic systems within a single architecture. Its function is not limited to actuation: it also organises the control logic, centralises system monitoring and facilitates interaction with the operator from dedicated control stations.
As a solution developed by FJ, PRIOR® incorporates valves, actuators and control platform in a single engineering. In this way, it ensures compatibility between equipment, greater technical consistency in design and a support unified throughout the entire project.
PRIOR® is a modular and scalable system that adapts to the needs of each user adapts to the needs of each project, defining the architecture of control and monitoring according to the requirements of the installation. In addition to remote control of valves, it centralises statuses, alarms, events and process variables to provide a comprehensive overview of the system and facilitate a more secure and orderly operation.
Architecture for control that can be adapted to each project
The PRIOR® system is configured to meet the specific requirements of each installation. Its modular design allows it to be adapted to both simple remote control solutions and more advanced monitoring architectures, with integration into higher-level systems and the option of operating either autonomously or as part of the ship’s or facility’s control platform.
Depending on the scope of the project, the system can incorporate PLCs, monitoring interfaces, touchscreens, fieldbus communication and integration with automation systems such as IAS or IPMS, as well as SCADA. It also supports various communication architectures for actuated valves, ranging from point-to-point configurations to in-line, ring or ring-with-redundant-control arrangements.
Beyond the boundaries of the drive, PRIOR® structure and organises the logic of operation of the system, ensuring that each signal, each valve and each line are correctly identified, monitored and accessible to the operator. This architecture facilitates local operation, remote operations, remote control, start-up, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
Integration
PRIOR® integrates valves, actuators and a control system into a single platform. It also allows pumps, sensors and other auxiliary equipment to be incorporated within a common architecture.
Connectivity
PRIOR® connects to both its own and third-party equipment via standard protocols such as Modbus, Profinet and Profibus. This facilitates the exchange of information, centralised monitoring and remote control of the system.
Flexibility
PRIOR® is a modular and scalable system, adaptable to the needs of each project. It allows the definition of options for control and monitoring according to the installation and the equipment integrated.
Control
PRIOR® manages analogue and digital signals as well as remote commands, and integrates automation features that simplify operation. It also enables the monitoring of statuses, alarms and process variables from dedicated control stations.
Solutions for remote control based on PRIOR®
PRIOR® enables the development of solutions for remote control tailored to different drive technologies. Each configuration corresponds to a distinct architecture and to specific operational requirements, monitoring and integration within the control system.
Electric remote control system
Solution designed for valve systems with electric actuators. Enables advanced automation, access to information on status and maintenance, and various configurations for communication according to the needs of the project.
Hydraulic remote control system
A configuration designed for installations with hydraulic actuators and a control architecture that integrates power supply, control and monitoring of system variables.
Pneumatic remote control system
Solution designed for installations with pneumatic actuators that prioritise simplicity of architecture, speed of operation and ease of integration within the control system.
Features of the control interface
Control is carried out directly via touchscreens installed at the control stations. This ensures the system is easy to operate and always accessible to the operator. It is particularly useful for equipment that is routinely operated locally, when emergency activation via the touchscreens is required, as well as during system testing or maintenance.
Alternatively, control systems can be designed without an interface, functioning solely as a gateway between the field equipment and a higher-level control system, such as the ship’s IAS. In addition, external control inputs can be integrated via control panels, push-buttons, etc.
Control capabilities
Standard
- Information on the valves (TAG, service, etc.).
- Display of status (open/closed/position[%]/error).
- Order (open/close/position[%])
- Alarms active (alarm, date, time).
- Alarm history (alarm, date, time).
- Diagnostics of the system (communications, power supply, etc.).
- Documentation for the system (user manual).
- Control of permissions by users (administrator, operator).
Optional
- Service mimics (pipework, other equipment, etc.)
- Valve specifications (DN, PN, service, etc.).
- Documentation for the valves (2D drawings, manuals, etc.).
- Documentation for the system (2D models, diagrams electrical diagrams, etc.).
- Control of permissions by users (users of monitoring, etc.).
User Management
By default, the system has two user levels, each with different permissions: administrator and operator.
Access for each user is granted by means of a set of credentials for security, preventing unauthorised personnel from accessing options for system configuration settings that are locked system configuration options locked. Optionally, it is possible to implement another type of users.
Service Mimics
Information about the equipment
Optionally, you may include documentation include documentation such as 2D models or electrical diagrams.
Management of Alarms and Historical Data
PRIOR offers specific screens for the management of alarms active and history of alarms, in which the detailed description the description of the incident, the equipment affected, as well as the time at which it was recorded (date and time).
Documentation for the system
The system stores the basic documentation to support during the phases of testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the equipment, such as user manuals, electrical diagrams, etc.
This information can be viewed directly on the screen, using the various menus for navigation.
Optionally, additional specific project documentation may be stored, such as certifications, etc.
