The Corporation for Science and Technology for the Development of the Naval, Maritime, and Riverine Industry (COTECMAR) has once again placed its trust in us to collaborate on the construction of a new amphibious landing ship (BDA) for the Colombian Navy (ARC). This will be the seventh version of this vessel.

Fernandez Jove will be responsible for supplying and commissioning the hydraulic system that enables the ship’s ramp (one of the most critical and visually striking parts of the project) to perform its lifting and folding movements. They will also supply the valves for the various services on the ship, enhancing quality and durability, as has been proven over time with the other ships supplied since 2014.

The BDA is a type of ship capable of carrying out humanitarian aid operations in riverine and coastal areas, and it also provides support for disaster relief operations and logistical support to the National Navy’s land bases by transporting troops, containers, and general cargo.

For both the Colombian Navy and Cotecmar, this ship model has been a successful project on all levels, and we are proud to be one of its main collaborators.
